Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems (S-95) Practice Exam

When a fire alarm system indicates a trouble signal, the appropriate action is to investigate the cause. This is essential because a trouble signal typically indicates that there is an issue with the system that could hinder its performance in an emergency. The trouble could range from a malfunctioning device, a wiring issue, or a low battery.

Investigating the cause allows you to determine whether the problem is serious and to take corrective actions to ensure that the fire alarm system remains operational and effective. Quick and careful investigation helps in maintaining the reliability of the system and guarantees safety for the occupants in the event of a fire. Neglecting to investigate could lead to a false sense of security and potentially put lives at risk if the system fails to operate properly during an emergency.
